Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. We are a small medical practice with a positive and friendly environment that takes pride in great customer service for the patients we care for. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical administrative support, being a positive team member, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient service. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, facilitating patient interactions, and maintaining accurate medical records. Duties Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy at the front desk. Scheduling appointments Answering phone calls and documenting/managing them appropriately Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information. Entering insurance plans into medical record Responding to faxes and referrals Scanning/chart entry Ensure that all medical records are filed correctly and maintained in an organized manner. Ability to communicate with other staff about patient issues Collecting copays and balances Assisting with other front office functions of a busy and growing small clinic Be able to multi-task and cross train. Will occasionally responsible for rooming patients, assisting with patient care, and helping with other office duties on days without patients scheduled. Qualifications Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role or in other customer service environments. Familiarity with basic insurance information is also helpful. Excellent typing skills with experience in 10-key typing for data entry tasks. Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Proven customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction. Experience with medical scheduling, intake processes, and clerical duties is highly desirable.
