Location:
Merriam, KS 66203 As a Medical Receptionist / Surgical Scheduler, you'll play a key role in welcoming patients, checking them in for their appointments, and managing referral calls. Your primary responsibility will be reaching out to referred patients to schedule consultations and procedures in a timely, professional manner.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent 2 years of medical scheduling experience English Bilingual (Preferred)
Responsibilities :
Greet callers warmly and serve as the first point of contact for patients Answer incoming calls promptly and manage phone systems (e.g., RingCentral) Perform front desk duties, including cross-training and maintaining punctual, reliable coverage Process incoming referrals and proactively contact patients to schedule appointments Schedule consults and procedures while accurately collecting and updating demographic and insurance information Confirm, cancel, and reschedule appointments as needed Use EMR systems and the Patient Tracker to align provider availability with patient needs Perform patient check-in and check-out, including insurance verification, referrals, and collections Discuss insurance benefits with patients and coordinate with the billing team as needed Prepare and maintain required reports (e.g., sedation reports) Communicate effectively with providers, staff, and external offices regarding scheduling and patient needs Address patient concerns professionally and provide excellent customer service Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
Skills :
Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients and clinicians regarding scheduling Ability to multitask in a professional and courteous manner, including managing a multi-line phone system Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient satisfaction Demonstrates teamwork, flexibility, and a positive, professional attitude in all interactions Proficient in computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office and EMR systems Apply to join Kansas City Urology Care partnered with IRC!
