The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems, medical billing, and healthcare documentation to ensure smooth clinic operations and compliance with confidentiality policies. Bilingual skills and prior clinic experience are highly valued to support diverse patient populations. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression at the front desk Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance information and updating medical records Collect payments and process insurance claims related to medical billing and coding, including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
codes Handle phone communication with patients and providers using multi-line phone systems; maintain excellent phone etiquette Review and verify clinical documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and ensure secure handling of sensitive health information Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient histories and updating health information in EMR/EHR platforms Support administrative tasks such as data entry, typing reports, managing office supplies, and performing general clerical duties using Microsoft Office tools Ensure adherence to clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards Experience Prior experience in a medical office or clinical setting is preferred, with familiarity in medical administrative support roles Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is highly desirable Experience with medical billing, coding (ICD-9/10, CPT), Medicare procedures, and health insurance processes is a plus Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and clinical confidentiality policies Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person Proficiency in computer skills including typing (10 key typing), data entry, filing, and managing multi-line phone systems Bilingual abilities are advantageous for supporting diverse patient populations This position offers an opportunity to be an integral part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to providing quality patient care through efficient administrative support.
