Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients, and maintaining accurate medical records. This role is crucial in facilitating smooth communication between patients and healthcare providers while adhering to all relevant regulations, including HIPAA. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently. Schedule appointments and maintain the office calendar. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness. Handle medical collections and process payments as necessary. Maintain organized medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize Meditech software for patient management and record keeping. Assist with care plans by coordinating with healthcare providers as needed. Answer phone calls promptly, addressing patient inquiries or directing them to the appropriate staff member. Ensure the office environment is clean, organized, and conducive to patient care. Skills Proficient understanding of medical terminology, including ICD-10 codes. Experience with computerized systems for managing medical records and documentation review. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in handling office tasks. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff. Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines. Familiarity with medical collection processes is a plus.
