Company Overview Advanced Eye Centers is a locally owned and operated multi-site ophthalmology and optometry practice located in the SouthCoast area of Massachusetts. With a commitment to exceptional patient care and customer service, we have experienced steady growth over the past two decades, offering comprehensive medical, surgical, and optical services. Summary We are seeking a Surgical Coordinator to join our team at Advanced Eye Centers. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating surgical schedules, managing patient communications, and ensuring that all aspects of the surgical process run smoothly. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining our high standards of patient care. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Pay starts at $24.00 per hour and is commensurate with experience. Responsibilities Coordinate surgical schedules and ensure all necessary preparations are completed prior to procedures. Communicate effectively with patients regarding their surgical appointments and follow-up care. Manage health information and maintain accurate medical records for all patients. Assist with medical coding and billing processes as needed. Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless patient flow through the surgical process. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing concerns and answering questions promptly. Cross train to help clinical floor staff as needed with screening patients or scribing. Requirements Experience in ophthalmology or medical office settings is preferred. Strong skills in medical scheduling and coordination of healthcare services. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and staff. Excellent organizational skills; ability to multitask. Familiarity with medical coding practices is a plus but not required. Proficient in using healthcare systems and software for managing patient information. Reliable transportation (Fall River is the home office for this position, but travel to our North Dartmouth and Taunton offices is required twice a week).
