Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Receptionist, where you will be the friendly face and efficient coordinator at the front desk. Your energetic and organized approach will ensure smooth patient flow, accurate appointment scheduling, and seamless administrative support. This vital role combines exceptional customer service with detailed medical administrative tasks, creating a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining precise documentation and insurance processes. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and efficiency Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance authorizations, and handle claims processing using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Collect payments, process billing, and perform medical collection activities to ensure timely revenue flow Maintain organized dental records, update patient information, and review documentation for accuracy in compliance with HIPAA regulations Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and managing patient inquiries Assist with intake procedures, including collecting medical history forms and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) such as eClinicalWorks or Meditech Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist in a clinical or dental office setting Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (ICD-10, CPT), and insurance verification processes Familiarity with dental practice management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth is highly desirable Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing speed of 10 key digits per minute Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA standards with discretion and confidentiality Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities Bilingual skills are a plus to serve diverse patient populations; clinic experience is preferred but not required Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical administrative support tasks Join us to be part of a caring team dedicated to delivering exceptional dental care through efficient office management and outstanding patient service.
