Position Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our front office team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients and families, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations of the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner Support front desk operations by managing patient check-in and check-out procedures Conduct intake procedures for new patients, ensuring all necessary forms are completed accurately Handle appointment cancellations, rescheduling, and confirmations efficiently Answer and manage a multi-line phone system, maintaining professionalism during high-volume periods Demonstrate excellent patient service skills with professional phone etiquette and a welcoming demeanor Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments Register new patients and update existing patient information in the EMR Utilize various EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as eClinicalWorks to update patient charts and document interactions Coordinate with medical staff on care plans, documentation review, and scheduling follow-up visits Verify insurance coverage and collect co-pays and payments Process medical billing and maintain financial records File and maintain patient charts and confidential information Prepare, scan, and fax documents as needed Coordinate prescription requests and communicate with pharmacies Assist with patient flow and communicate wait times Maintain a clean and organized reception area Support clinical staff with administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional medical office training preferred Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a medical office setting with strong clinic experience Demonstrated clerical experience supporting front desk operations in a fast-paced healthcare setting Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, eClinicalWorks Knowledge of medical terminology for accurate documentation Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Proven ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining professionalism during high-volume periods Excellent patient service skills with professional phone etiquette and a friendly demeanor Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficient with computers and electronic medical records (EMR) Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Bilingual skills a plus
