JOB SUMMARY
Performs clerical duties on the assigned unit. Assists in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment, assists the patient care team to provide various patient care activities. Maintains customer service focus essential for smooth unit operation.MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education and Training:
High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.Work Orientation and Experience:
One (1) year of experience as a medical and/or customer service secretary preferred. The incumbent may require 2-3 weeks of detailed job orientation and training to perform essential job functions with a mentor and/or educator.Skills and Abilities:
Ability to: a) manual finger dexterity with hand-eye coordination, b) basic computer skills and typing, c) convey effective verbal and written communications; d) follow directions; e) organize and manage decisions consistent with current policies, procedures and nursing standards; f) adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the hospital, including all shifts; g) effectively function as a member of a collaborative team; h) respond to emergency situations appropriately.BenefitsAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
