Job Description
Job Summary This position is responsible for greeting all incoming patients with a pleasant and professional demeanor, to welcome them to the Practice and explain all necessary paperwork prior to being seen by a provider. Paperwork includes such items as updating and/or gathering insurance information, requesting patient to complete online medical forms, and patient monetary responsibilities. This position will rotate between appointment scheduling and front desk. Responsibilities and Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet patients in a professional and courteous manner. Clearly explain what is needed such as completion of required paperwork and out of pocket expenses Verify, update, and copy pertinent insurance and personal information, such as driver's license or ID, insurance card and others. Use practice management system to accurately enter in patient information. Confirm insurance coverage, referrals, and eligibility on-line or via phone prior to being seen by a provider. Address patient inquiries about their account and forward to billing as necessary. Schedule and reschedule appointments. Travel to remote sites as needed. Must work early and late shifts as needed and self-coordinate for any absences. Protect the security of medical records to ensure confidentiality is maintained in compliance with office procedures and regulatory agencies. Rotate to appointment scheduler and front desk as needed. Qualifications and Skills Proven ability to maintain a professional and pleasant demeanor while being able to multi-task and handle conflict. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and ability to deal effectively with a variety of people and situations. Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skill using the English language. Proven ability to work with sensitive and confidential information in a confidential manner. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually with little supervision and instruction. Strong Customer Relations skills and problem resolution skills. Sense of urgency and attention to detail. Good organization skills and ability to handle multiple tasks effectively. Basic working knowledge of medical practice operations, billing practices, medical insurance terminology, etc. Good working knowledge of basic office machines (i.e. fax machines, copiers). Competent in routine, repetitive work. Good organization and time management skills.Job Type:
