Job Description

Esthetic Dental Care of Kentland , located in Gaithersburg, is seeking a professional, organized, and friendly Dental Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our practice, you will manage daily front-office operations, ensure an exceptional patient experience, and streamline administrative workflows. The ideal candidate has strong multitasking skills, exceptional attention to detail, and proficiency with Carestream SoftDent software. Core Responsibilities Patient Management Greet arriving patients warmly and check them in. Manage high-volume, multi-line telephone systems. Screen, route, and resolve phone and email inquiries. Coordinate the patient intake process by collecting history and consent forms. Answer patient questions regarding scheduling, billing, and basic dental procedures. Scheduling & Coordination Schedule, confirm, optimize, and reschedule appointments daily. Maintain and maximize the daily provider calendar to prevent gaps. Manage the practice patient recall system for regular checkups. Insurance & Billing Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility prior to appointments. File, track, and follow up on dental insurance claims. Calculate and clearly explain treatment plans and out-of-pocket costs to patients. Collect co-pays, deductibles, and processing balances at check-out. Administration & Compliance Update, organize, and digitize electronic health records (EHR) using SoftDent. Adhere strictly to HIPAA compliance regulations to protect private patient data. Oversee lobby cleanliness and maintain front office inventory.
Required Skills & Qualifications Education :
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience :
2-3 years of front desk experience in a dental practice preferred.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency with Carestream SoftDent dental practice management software and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge :
Basic understanding of dental terminology, ADA coding, and insurance terminology.
Soft Skills :
Superior verbal communication, active listening, conflict resolution, and empathy. Must be reliable, well spoken, and presentable with a positive attitude
