Job Description

Medical Receptionist, Full Time Position- Overlea, MD We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our Physical Therapy Practice. They will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing front-desk operations efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone in a professional and welcoming manner. Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using the practice's scheduling system. Register new patients and update existing patient records accurately. Verify insurance coverage and obtain required authorizations. Collect co-pays, outstanding balances, and process payments. Maintain and organize patient files and medical records. Prepare charts and ensure necessary documentation is available for providers. Answer inquiries about office procedures, services, and policies. Communicate effectively with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow. Keep the reception area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary materials.
Qualifications:
Minimum education Associates College Degree. Previous experience in a medical office preferred. Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Work Environment:
This is a patient-facing role in a fast-paced medical setting requiring compassion, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
