Medical Assistant
  • Balance Foot & Ankle About the Role Are you an organized, customer-service-driven professional looking to step into a modern healthcare environment?
Balance Foot & Ankle is a rapidly growing podiatry practice seeking an enthusiastic Medical Assistant to join our team. We pride ourselves on an innovative approach to foot and ankle care, leveraging technology to provide a superior patient experience. In this role, you aren't just a "roomer"—you are a vital part of the clinical flow, ensuring every patient feels welcomed, heard, and expertly cared for.
Key Responsibilities Patient Experience:
Greet patients with a warm, welcoming smile. You are the first face of clinical care, and your goal is to ensure a positive, seamless experience from start to finish.
Clinical Flow Management:
Proactively manage the doctor's daily schedule. You will anticipate the needs of the provider and ensure that all equipment, products, and medical tools are stocked and prepared for each specific appointment type.
Patient Intake & Preparation:
Responsible for rooming patients and accurately identifying the reason for their visit. You will prepare patients for treatment and effectively communicate clinical details to the provider to ensure efficient care.
Tech-Forward Support:
Utilize our practice's technology and systems to document patient information and streamline clinical operations.
We are looking for:
A People Person:
You have a natural gift for customer service and can put patients at ease during their visits.
Highly Organized:
You stay two steps ahead, keeping the exam rooms and the provider's schedule running like clockwork.
Tech-Savvy:
You are comfortable with (and excited by) new technology and modern medical software.
A Strong Communicator:
You can distill patient concerns into clear, concise information for the doctor.
EHR/EMR Systems:
Experience with podiatry-specific software and EHR knowledge; Athena preferred.
Digital Imaging:
Proficiency in taking digital X-rays and potentially using diagnostic ultrasound or 3D orthotic scanners.
Specialized Procedures:
Assisting with ingrown toenail removals, injections, wart treatments, and diabetic wound care. Empathy for the
Elderly:
A large portion of podiatry patients are seniors; patience and a gentle touch are essential.
Anticipatory Thinking:
The ability to look at the schedule and know exactly what needs to be in the exam room, before the doctor walks in.
Patient Education:
The ability to clearly explain instructions: (examples) taking care of ingrown procedure at home after office procedure, proper instruction of how to wear a surgical boot and how to correctly break in orthotics.
