In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while efficiently managing administrative tasks. Your expertise in medical office procedures, electronic health records (EHR) management, and patient service will contribute to the smooth operation of our clinic. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and passionate about providing exceptional healthcare support. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service and guiding them through check-in procedures Schedule appointments using various EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Verify patient insurance information, process payments, and handle medical collections accurately Manage incoming phone calls with professional phone etiquette, directing inquiries appropriately and taking detailed messages when necessary Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including care plans, billing codes (CPT, ICD-9/10), and insurance claims Assist with medical billing processes, including coding (ICD coding), Medicare claims, and health insurance verifications Support clinical staff by preparing documentation review and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry with 10-key typing skills, and managing office supplies to ensure a well-organized front desk environment Skills Proven experience in medical office administration or as a medical receptionist in a clinic setting Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Familiarity with medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle phone communication professionally and courteously Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and scheduling tasks Understanding of health insurance policies, Medicare processes, and health information management standards Ability to review clinical documentation accurately while maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing medical records and administrative support tasks Previous clinic experience combined with clerical experience is highly desirable Join our team to make a difference in patient care by providing efficient administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
