Job Description
Join Our Mission of Compassionate Eye Care! Are you passionate about making a difference in patients' lives? We're seeking a dedicated Patient Representative who thrives in a caring, fast-paced medical environment. You'll be the welcoming face patients see from check-in to check-out, ensuring their entire experience is smooth and professional.
What You'll Do:
Complete patient check-in/check-out- Verify demographics, insurance, copy cards, and collect payments Manage patient scheduling
- Book, reschedule, and coordinate appointments with physician schedules Handle financial responsibilities
- Collect fees, maintain cash drawer, process payments and insurance Answer phones & triage calls
- Provide excellent phone support and emergency situation recognition Support patient care coordination
- Handle referrals, pre-certifications, and medical records releases Administrative excellence
- Filing, correspondence, chart preparation, and general office support
What We're Looking For:
Customer service experience- You genuinely enjoy helping people and resolving concerns Strong communication skills
- Excel at active listening and professional interaction Financial accuracy
- Comfortable handling payments, cash management, and insurance processing Medical office aptitude
- Ability to learn medical terminology and practice procedures Reliability & teamwork
- Someone who takes pride in their work and supports colleagues Compassionate nature
- Empathy and tact when working with ill, older, or distressed patients Organizational skills
- Can multitask during busy periods while maintaining accuracy Emergency awareness
- Ability to recognize urgent situations and respond appropriately
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required Customer service experience required Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, with normal range of vision and hearing (corrected if needed) Must maintain strict patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance) Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations professionally Strong math skills for financial transactions and insurance processingWhy You'll Love Working Here:
