We are currently hiring for Part Time Nursing Unit Secretary. The shifts are 8:30am-4:00 pm, Mon-Fri, 75 hours a pay period, no weekends, no holidays (11 holidays a year) Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
Job Purpose:
The primary purpose of your job position is to maintain medical records in accordance with federal and state guidelines, as well as, in accordance with our established policies and procedures, to assure that a complete medical record program is maintained. Position will also assist the Nurses on the shift with day-to-day recording and documenting of information and other tasks as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Record medical and administrative information in accordance with facility charting and documentation policies and procedures.
  • Complete necessary medical and administrative records upon the resident's admission, transfer and/or discharge.
  • Maintain an up-to-date Resident Roster
  • Assist with scheduling of Podiatry, Dental, Audiology, and Ophthalmology coordination of residents on day-of appointments.
  • Records and files all Call-In slips. Reviews excessive/concerns with DON on a weekly basis.
  • Communicates Admissions, Discharges and other pertinent information in a timely manner.
  • Attends and directs visitors to resident's rooms, office areas, etc. as necessary
  • Answer telephone, page calls, and inquiries as well as deliver messages to residents, etc.
  • Maintain nursing medical supplies and purchase if needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information
  • Perform various duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and nursing practices. Take initiative and works well independently and in a fast pace environment. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English language. Must have basic computer skills and word processing experience. Possess the ability to work independently and resourcefulness, tact in dealing with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma. HUC Certificate prefered but not required. Must complete a MN Department of Human Services Criminal Background Check and be certified by the Department as employable as a Nursing Home Employee.
