Job Description

Job Summary:
The Unit Secretary/Paser is responsible for the secretarial aspects of patient care, gathering essential information to register the patient, apply armbands, and escort patients to a room and environmental management of the work unit. She/he functions directly under the supervision of the Patient Care Coordinator and is directly accountable to the Patient Care Manager. Perform other job duties as assigned.
Performance Expectations:
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed. Demonstrates thorough, concise and timely documentation, shift reports and verbal communication. Communicates pertinent patient information to all health care team members. Maintains own clinical skills staying current in skills, equipment and certifications including, but not limited to: Infant security system, Baby Friendly Initiative, and Family Centered Care. Communicates effectively with others in an appropriate and timely manner. Adheres to and promotes the established values of the organization, i.e. customer service, safety and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
High School Diploma/GED required.
Work Experience:
Computer experience preferred but not required. Certification/Licensure-DUE
