Job Description

Job Summary:
Under direct supervision performs all duties to assist radiologists. Works effectively and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental hospital personnel. Hours for this position will be Monday-Friday 8am-4pm.
Major Job Functions:
Image Preparation:
Ensure all breast imaging studies are properly loaded into the PACS, with correct patient information and imaging protocols.
Order Management:
Verify that all imaging orders are complete, accurate, and in compliance with departmental protocols. Follow up on any missing or incomplete orders.
Radiologist Support:
Assist radiologists by preparing cases for interpretation, including ensuring all necessary images, reports, and patient information are available and correctly labeled.
Data Entry and Management:
Enter and update patient demographics, imaging orders, and study details into the EHR/RIS, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
Workflow Coordination:
Coordinate the daily workflow of the reading room, ensuring efficient scheduling and prioritization of cases for radiologists.
Communication:
Serve as a liaison between radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare staff, facilitating effective communication and problem resolution.
Record Maintenance:
Maintain organized and up-to-date records of imaging studies, reports, and patient information, both electronically and in paper form.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service to patients, answering inquiries and assisting with scheduling and preparation for imaging procedures. Adhere to all policies, standards and procedures. Perform other miscellaneous duties as requested
Specifications:
Education:
High School diploma or
GED Experience:
Proficient in PACS, EHR and Radiology Information Systems, preferred
Certification/License/Registration:

Special Training/Skills:
Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations. Ability to be flexible and work on multiple projects. Ability to interact on all levels. Must have good communication skills. Must be courteous at all times with interdepartmental personnel.
Physical Demands:
General vision, clear speech, hearing, reading, writing, standing, walking. May use some repetitive movements, bend, kneel or move or carry light objects. Occasional filing or typing.
Working Conditions:
Works in a medical facility. Works and with others verbal and face-to-face contact.
