Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. Your energetic approach will help ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate appointment scheduling, and efficient handling of patient information. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a caring healthcare environment while utilizing your strong administrative and medical support skills. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression and delivering excellent patient service. Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) system Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes. Collect and process patient payments, including medical collections and billing procedures. Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry. Maintain accurate medical records by organizing files, updating patient information, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing clear communication and routing calls appropriately. Assist with medical administrative support tasks such as filing, faxing, copying, and managing office supplies. Support clinic operations by coordinating medical scheduling, appointment reminders, and follow-up communications. Utilize various EMR (Electronic Medical Record) Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology Proficiency with EMR/EHR system Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare/Medicaid billing requirements. Excellent computer skills with familiarity in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software. Exceptional phone etiquette with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Previous clinic or dental office experience is preferred to ensure familiarity with medical office management procedures. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and security of protected health information (PHI). Strong organizational skills for filing, documentation review, and managing medical records efficiently. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
