Retina Consultants is proud to be the only fellowship-trained retina clinic in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Our providers are highly trained retina specialists who combine deep clinical expertise with compassionate care to deliver the highest standard of retinal treatment.
Position Summary:
As the Medical Receptionist | Administrative Support, you will be a key player in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility. Your primary role involves managing incoming phone communications and supporting administrative coordination within the business office in collaboration with clinical staff and physicians. This position also provides front desk coverage as needed to support patient flow and clinic operations. Your responsibilities encompass maintaining high standards of patient care, communication accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Professionally answer and route phone calls, schedule appointments, and take messages as needed. Document patient requests and essential information in the EMR system for timely responses to patient needs. Maintain and manage incoming documentation, including fax routing and administrative data coordination. Support kiosk and electronic check-in workflows as needed. Verify patient eligibility and insurance benefits. Collect copays and outstanding balances from patients, ensuring accurate record-keeping. Maintain a strong understanding of clinic protocols and physician schedules, providing accurate information to patients. Coordinate and manage paperwork processes and data routing as required. Engage with patients, physicians, and external staff, offering timely and accurate information both within the clinic and at external facilities. Support the efficient flow of patients within the clinic by assisting with front desk operations as needed. Provide backup support to business office functions as needed. Identify scheduling challenges and communicate barriers impacting clinic access or workflow. Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Demonstrated reliability and ability to consistently meet scheduled, on-site work hours. Consistent on-site attendance is an expectation of this position due to its role in supporting real-time patient access and clinic operations. Ability to work within structured clinic workflows, protocols, and fixed schedules. Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and accountability. Ability to function effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced medical environment. Clear verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize responsibilities and adapt to shifting operational needs throughout the clinic day. Ability to work independently while supporting team-based workflow expectations.

Additional Information:
This is a full-time, on-site position in Fargo. Compensation and benefits package will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic and dedicated team in a cutting-edge medical environment.
Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
