Job Description

About our practice: Madison-Bernardsville Pediatrics is a busy, well-established pediatric practice serving families in our community for many years. Our practice continues to grow, and we are seeking a friendly, dependable team member who enjoys working with children and families. This position is currently part-time (3 days per week) and involves working at our two office locations. As our practice continues to expand, additional days and responsibilities may become available for the right candidate. This role offers the opportunity for professional growth and increased hours over time. Responsibilities Greet patients and families with a welcoming attitude Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, including appointment scheduling using EMR (Athenahealth) Verify insurance coverage-perform insurance eligibility check Answer incoming calls and respond to parents inquiries Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents correctly and updating electronic health information systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collect copays and balances Enter and update patient information in Athenahealth EMR Manage referrals, forms, and medical records requests Support front-office operations at two office locations Qualifications Experience in a pediatric, family medicine, or medical office preferred Comfortable interacting with children and families Professional phone etiquette Strong customer service skills Ability to remain calm during busy periods Excellent organizational skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage interruptions Experience with insurance verification and eligibility checks Knowledge of copay collection and patient registration Appointment scheduling and recall management Familiarity with HIPAA and patient confidentiality Team player willing to assist coworkers as needed Dependable attendance and punctuality Billing knowledge is plus
Pay:
$21.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
