Job Summary:
``` We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team. We are a family-owned and operated private medical practice. The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for providing administrative support in a medical office setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical reception, medical insurance verification, knowledge of medical terminology, and excellent customer service skills. ```Duties:
```- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments
- Verify patient information, including insurance eligibility, and update electronic medical records
- Collect co-pays and process insurance information
- Assist with medical billing and coding
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Manage medical records and ensure accuracy of documentation
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and schedule follow-up appointments
- Assist with medical scheduling and manage appointment reminders
- Provide general administrative support to the healthcare team ```
Requirements:
```- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role is highly desired
- Knowledge of medical insurances, terminology and procedures
- Proficient in using electronic health records systems (Epic, eClinicalWorks, etc)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Familiarity with medical billing and coding processes is a plus
- Cross-trained as a receptionist and Medical Assistant is a strong plus.
