Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors in our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of medical administrative support. This role requires proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, insurance verification, and medical billing processes. The Medical Receptionist will ensure smooth front desk operations, facilitate patient intake, and maintain accurate medical records while providing exceptional patient service in a professional environment. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing outstanding customer service while managing multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy. Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software. Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and other third-party payers, to facilitate accurate billing and claims processing. Collect patient information, update medical records, and review documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support office management activities including filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies to ensure a well-organized clinic environment. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation review and administrative reporting purposes. Qualifications Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is required; clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems is essential. Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, staff, and providers. Ability to handle sensitive health information in accordance with HIPAA standards while maintaining confidentiality. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Proficiency in computer skills including typing (10 key typing), Microsoft Office Suite, and office management software. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing tasks.
Pay:
$19.00 - $20.00 per hour
