JOB SUMMARY
• Provides secretarial support in either a primary or urgent care setting, including scheduling patient's appointments, confidential records, filing/scanning, processing payments, and reviewing messages with Medical Providers. Works well with others in a team environment.•
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following: Warm, outgoing personality, with the ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with persons of all backgrounds. Ability to work well under pressure. Requires good grooming and dress habits that reflect a professional image. Respect and maintain the privacy and dignity of patients: assure patient confidentiality at all times. Must have computer knowledge in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Able to type routine correspondence and reports using a personal computer. Schedules patients for medical examinations and diagnostic testing. Relays information to patients regarding preparation for laboratory tests and examinations. Assist patients or family members with the completion of pre-registration forms. Informs patients of the costs of care being provided. According to protocols, collect and post fees; prepare and balance daily financial registers and submit all forms to accounts receivable. Answers telephones, switchboards, screens callers, relays messages, and greets visitors. Maintains calendar, schedules appointments, and a meeting room. Picks up and delivers materials as required. Opens, sorts, and screens mail. Maintains forms and office supplies required for front desk activities. Secure the building at the close of each working day; turn off or unplug appliances and machines and lock all entrances. Assure the readiness of the reception area for each working day; open the building at the designated time and have all front desk activities fully operational at the start of business hours. Train new employees. Other duties as assigned by Administration.
