Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and organized Medical Receptionist to join our psychiatric healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative duties. Your energetic approach will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate appointment scheduling, and efficient handling of patient records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and passionate about delivering outstanding patient care support in a fast-paced medical environment. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression and excellent patient service experience Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Headway Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks and verification for various providers including Medicare and Medicaid Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and proper documentation review Assist with medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and collection processes to support the clinic's revenue cycle management Support medical administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, appointment reminders, and managing clinic supplies Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth clinic operations and care plans implementation Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office support role; clinic or dental office experience preferred Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix/Eaglesoft for dental clinics Familiarity with medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), insurance verification, medical billing, and documentation review processes Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (including 10-key typing) Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and health information management standards Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, record keeping, and appointment scheduling Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and positive attitude Join our team to make a meaningful difference in patient care!
