Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clerical duties. Your energetic approach will help ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and positive patient experiences. The ideal candidate will possess computer skills, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a passion for supporting healthcare delivery through efficient administrative support. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a welcoming environment at the front desk. Schedule patient appointments using medical scheduling software, coordinating with clinicians to optimize clinic flow. Collect payments and process medical collections accurately while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, including updating demographic information in our EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system. Review and update medical records, ensuring proper documentation review and accuracy Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, practicing excellent phone etiquette to address patient inquiries and direct calls appropriately. Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and other administrative documents. Assist with medical office management tasks such as intake processes, appointment reminders, and follow-up communications. Skills Familiarity with health information management standards including HIPAA compliance. Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and active listening abilities. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10-key typing). Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced clinic environment while maintaining attention to detail. Previous clinic or office experience is advantageous.
