Surgical Front Desk Receptionist
DEPARTMENT
Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)

ASC Director
JOB SUMMARY
This individual is responsible for greeting and checking-in and out patients for surgery. Which includes, scheduling follow up appointments, completing paperwork with the patient, ensuring all paperwork is complete and correct for the surgical staff, making reminder calls, collecting payments, and billing out charges after the procedure. Responsibilities Greets/admits patients on their surgery day Answers phone calls Prepares patient charts with appropriate forms Collects payments Assists patient with surgery paperwork/consent forms Keeps responsible parties updated Demonstrates ability to operate and maintain copy machine, adding machine, computer and credit card machine Assists in keeping waiting room neat Performs reminder calls for patients Schedule follow up appointments for surgery Charge/bill out procedures
JOB DIMENSIONS
Keeps all surgical records confidential, secure, and easily retrievable upon request by physician. Each patient will have a separate surgical chart. Maintains an organized system for patient flow. Performs duties with a stable, mature, and dependable attitude.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent. Basic typing, English and mathematical skills Medical and/or computer experience. Pleasant personality and disposition Skills Professional attitude and appearance Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks Customer service attitude Excellent organizational skills Cash handling skills High school diploma or equivalent CPR certified
