Responsibilities Verify insurance eligibility and determine the primary, secondary, and tertiary payor order. Calculate the total payment cost for appointments after applying any copay or coinsurance. Review insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and effectively communicate this information to patients. Perform medical scheduling to ensure efficient patient flow. Manage phone calls with professionalism, addressing inquiries and scheduling appointments. Handle clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence. Coordinate with healthcare providers to facilitate patient care and follow-up appointments. Qualifications Proven experience in a front desk or administrative role within a medical office or hospital setting. Proficient in insurance verification and eligibility processes. Comprehension of payment collection, including copays and coinsurance. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in medical software. Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
