Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach and strong organizational skills will help ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and a welcoming environment for all patients. The ideal candidate will be proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems, insurance verification, and possess excellent communication skills to foster positive patient interactions. Duties Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out procedures with professionalism and efficiency Schedule appointments using clinic management software - Nextgen Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance authorizations, and handle billing processes including medical collection efforts Review and update patient records in electronic health record (EHR) systems Assist with documentation review and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Answer multi-line phone systems with courteous phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and managing patient inquiries Manage medical records filing, data entry, and maintain organized documentation in compliance with clinical confidentiality policies Support clinical staff by preparing care plans, intake forms, and assisting with medical administrative support tasks such as appointment reminders and follow-up calls Perform insurance verification for Medicare and other health plans while adhering to health information management standards Utilize computer skills including Microsoft Office to generate reports, update schedules, and maintain office records Qualifications Proven experience as an Outpatient Medical Receptionist preferred Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Knowledge of health insurance verification processes and familiarity with medical terminology is a plus for medical clinic settings Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel Understanding of HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure patient privacy at all times Prior office clerical experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous Join our team to make a meaningful difference in patient care through energetic support and meticulous administrative excellence!
