Experienced Dental Receptionist Kruger Advanced Dental | Bayside, Queens, NY Are you an experienced dental front-desk professional who understands dental insurance, treatment estimates, claims, and how to keep a busy dental office running efficiently? Kruger Advanced Dental is seeking a high-level Dental Receptionist / Front Desk Coordinator for our growing private practice in Bayside, Queens. This is not an entry-level receptionist position. We are looking for someone with real dental office experience who can confidently manage the front desk, communicate professionally with patients, understand insurance and patient financial responsibility, and take ownership of their work without needing constant supervision. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and understands how important the front desk is to both the patient experience and the financial success of a dental practice. Your Role You will play a key role in keeping our practice organized, productive, and running smoothly.
Responsibilities include:
  • Managing the front desk and daily patient flow
  • Answering phones professionally and handling patient inquiries
  • Scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling appointments
  • Managing cancellations and helping reduce openings in the schedule
  • Handling new-patient calls and converting inquiries into scheduled appointments
  • Checking patients in and out efficiently
  • Verifying dental insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Reviewing insurance plans and accurately determining patient financial responsibility
  • Preparing treatment estimates
  • Explaining copays, deductibles, insurance coverage, and expected out-of-pocket costs to patients
  • Collecting copays, balances, and payments
  • Submitting dental insurance claims
  • Tracking and following up on outstanding claims
  • Calling insurance companies to resolve unpaid, delayed, or denied claims
  • Preparing and following up on pre-authorizations and predeterminations
  • Reviewing patient accounts and assisting with outstanding balances
  • Following up with patients who have unscheduled treatment
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and financial information
  • Working closely with doctors, hygienists, and assistants to keep the schedule productive and organized
  • Identifying problems before they become bigger issues and taking initiative to help solve them We Are Looking for Someone Who Can Say "Yes" to Most of These
  • I have at least 2 years of dental front-office experience
  • I understand dental insurance and can read a benefit breakdown
  • I have experience verifying PPO insurance benefits
  • I know the difference between a deductible, annual maximum, copay, coinsurance, waiting period, and frequency limitation
  • I have prepared treatment estimates and discussed patient financial responsibility
  • I have submitted and followed up on dental insurance claims
  • I am comfortable calling insurance companies and resolving claim issues
  • I have experience with pre-authorizations / predeterminations
  • I am comfortable collecting money and discussing finances professionally with patients
  • I know how to manage a busy schedule and minimize cancellations and open time
  • I am comfortable following up with patients who have unscheduled treatment
  • I can handle multiple priorities without becoming disorganized
  • I take ownership of my work and do not wait to be told about every problem
  • I communicate professionally with patients and coworkers Software Experience SoftDent experience is strongly preferred . Experience with the following is a plus:
  • SoftDent
  • Weave
  • Dental insurance portals
  • Electronic claims systems
  • Microsoft Office and basic computer systems If you are an experienced dental receptionist but have not used SoftDent, we are willing to train the right candidate.

Compensation:
$25
  • 32 per hour, based on experience Highly qualified candidates with strong dental insurance, claims, and practice-management experience may qualify for higher compensation.
Schedule:
Monday 8:30am
  • 5:30pm, Tuesday 12:30pm
  • 8:30pm, Wednesday 8:30am
  • 3:30pm, Thursday 12:30pm
  • 8:30pm, Friday Closed, Saturday 8:30am-2:30pm
