North Shore Children's Healthcare Glen Cove, NY (Nassau County) Job Overview North Shore Children's Healthcare is a well-established, busy pediatric medical office seeking a friendly, reliable, and professional Medical Receptionist to join our team. This position combines front desk responsibilities with medical billing duties to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate billing. Key Responsibilities Greet patients and families warmly and professionally Schedule appointments, confirm patient information, and manage patient check-in and check-out Review medical records to ensure completeness and proper documentation for billing purposes Collect copays and outstanding balances at the time of visit Collect insurance information and verify coverage Answer phones and assist with patient inquiries Perform general front desk and administrative duties as needed Qualifications Previous receptionist or medical office experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills Strong phone etiquette and ability to manage multi-line phone systems Friendly and professional communication with excellent customer service skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Proficient with computers and electronic medical record (EMR) systems Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
Office Hours Monday-Thursday:
8:30 AM-2:00 PM & 3:00 PM-7:00
PM Friday:
8:30 AM-3:00
PM Rotating Saturday:
8:30 AM-1:30 PM (Saturday rotation is required. Shifts will be scheduled within these office hours.) Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.
