Duties Greet patients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression and efficient check-in process Schedule appointments using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth, coordinating with providers' calendars Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks to facilitate seamless billing processes Collect and document patient information accurately, including medical history, current medications, and reason for visit Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette to answer inquiries and direct calls appropriately Process medical billing and collections using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding, and Medicare guidelines Maintain organized medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper filing of electronic and paper documents Assist with documentation review, care plan updates, and data entry in various EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems such as eClinicalWorks or Dentrix Support office management tasks including filing, data entry, appointment reminders, and inventory management for office supplies Experience Prior experience working in a medical office or clinic environment is highly preferred Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or Dentrix is essential Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding standards, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare guidelines is advantageous Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Proven customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly under HIPAA regulations Office experience involving front desk duties such as scheduling, intake processing, and clerical support is highly valued Join us in delivering exceptional patient service while supporting the operational excellence of our healthcare facility.
