Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where your energetic and organized approach will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate appointments, and ensure smooth communication between patients and medical staff. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to delivering exceptional patient service and maintaining efficient clinic operations. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and check them in efficiently using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Schedule appointments accurately, manage calendar updates, and coordinate follow-up visits with healthcare providers Answer incoming phone calls with professional phone etiquette, providing clear information and directing inquiries appropriately Collect and process medical payments and insurance co-pays using medical billing and coding knowledge including CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and Medicare guidelines Maintain patient records by updating medical history, documenting care plans, and reviewing documentation for accuracy in compliance with HIPAA privacy policies Assist with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and health insurance inquiries to facilitate seamless billing processes Support clinical staff by managing medical records requests, organizing documentation review, and ensuring confidentiality of sensitive health information Experience Proven experience working in a medical office or clinical setting with strong front desk or administrative responsibilities Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or similar platforms Knowledge of medical terminology, health insurance procedures, and clinical confidentiality policies Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel; 10-key typing skills are preferred Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly over the phone and in person Join us as a Medical Receptionist where your proactive attitude will enhance patient experiences while supporting our healthcare team's success. Pay:
