Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team ay Buffalo Orthopedics, PC. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a wide range of administrative duties. Your energetic approach will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and efficient communication between patients and medical staff. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a patient-centered environment where professionalism and compassion are paramount. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and assist with check-in procedures using the Medent Electronic Health Record (EHR) Schedule patient appointments efficiently, coordinate with medical staff, and manage calendar updates to optimize clinic flow. Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks. Maintain accurate medical records by updating patient information, reviewing documentation for completeness, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, respond promptly to patient inquiries, and direct calls appropriately. Assist with medical administrative support tasks including filing, data entry, and managing electronic records using Medent. Support clinical staff by preparing intake forms, reviewing documentation accuracy, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office role, orthopedic preferred but not mandatory, with familiarity in clinic operations and front desk responsibilities. Strong knowledge of medical terminology. Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems. Medent preferred. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), typing (10-key), and familiarity with health information management software. Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clear communication abilities. Ability to handle sensitive patient information discreetly in accordance with HIPAA standards. Previous experience in a medical office is mandatory Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and office management tasks. $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
