Duties Greet patients warmly and provide excellent customer service while managing check-in and check-out processes Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance authorization, and conduct insurance verification to facilitate billing processes Collect payments, process medical collections, and handle billing inquiries accurately and professionally Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation, managing electronic health records (EHR), and ensuring compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies Assist with medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding for billing purposes Manage multi-line phone systems, answer patient questions, and direct calls efficiently using proper phone etiquette Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies Use office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for appointment scheduling and record keeping Facilitate intake procedures for new patients and coordinate care plans with healthcare providers Experience Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong clerical skills Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Knowledge of health insurance processes including verification, Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing Experience handling medical billing, collections, and coding (CPT, ICD-9/10) required Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation review and reporting Strong understanding of clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare regulations like HIPAA Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Prior clinic or hospital experience is preferred to navigate medical terminology confidently Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on phone communication and patient engagement Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy office environment while maintaining attention to detail Join us in making a difference by providing compassionate support to our patients while ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility.
