Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Receptionist / Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing medical billing and administrative tasks. Your expertise in electronic health record (EHR) systems, medical coding, and insurance processes will ensure smooth clinic operations and accurate documentation. Email resume to suzannekerr07@Gmail.com Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive front desk experience while managing appointment scheduling and patient intake processes. Verify patient insurance coverage, obtain necessary documentation, and assist with billing submissions using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks. Review medical records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with clinical confidentiality policies. Process medical claims for Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, and other payers utilizing CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding standards. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection procedures to optimize revenue cycle management. Maintain accurate documentation review, data entry, and filing of patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Handle phone communication with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers using professional phone etiquette while providing excellent customer service. Support clinic operations by managing medical scheduling, coordinating care plans, and performing clerical duties such as typing reports and maintaining medical records. Utilize Microsoft Office tools for administrative support tasks including data entry, report generation, and correspondence. Ensure compliance with health information management standards by maintaining organized electronic health records (EHR) management. Skills Proven experience in medical billing, coding (ICD-10/ICD-9/CPT), and insurance claim processing. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks. Familiarity with healthcare regulations including HIPAA to ensure patient confidentiality at all times. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Exceptional patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly via phone and in person. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Clinic experience with familiarity in medical office management and administrative support functions. Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare billing procedures. Ability to review clinical documentation accurately while adhering to documentation review standards. Strong organizational skills for filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining accurate medical records. Experience working with various EMR/EHR platforms along with a solid understanding of medical terminology and clinical confidentiality policies.
