50 Shift differentials: $1.21 extra for working between 3:00pm-11:00pm $2.05 extra for working between 11:00pm-7:00am $1.05 extra for working on weekend shifts Position Summary The Unit Secretary performs a variety of clerical, receptionist and administrative support functions for the nursing unit/department. They act as key liaison for the unit, supporting internal and external communication with a variety of people including patients, families, visitors, physicians and coworkers. As a Unit Secretary you will have the opportunity to: Perform administrative tasks such as order entry, placing reports into patient's medical records, assisting with chart preparation for admissions, patient transfers, surgery and other related duties. Demonstrate strong computer skills using different software applications Facilitate workflow in the nursing units, communication of information and transcription of physicians' orders under the supervision of an RN Promote patient safety and comfort and actively participate in patient satisfaction Demonstrate advanced Responsive Observations knowledge base in practice of care Provide excellent communication between staff and patients Qualifications Education Associate's degree in business, healthcare, or related field is preferred Experience Previous clerical experience providing knowledge of office procedures, office equipment and computer programs is required Previous experience in a clinical capacity within the nursing unit that provides knowledge of unit policies, procedures and unit-specific clerical training is highly desired Total Rewards We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package designed to support your well-being and professional growth, including:
