Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Oral Surgery Billing Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate billing processes for oral surgery procedures, managing medical records, and facilitating collections. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the intricacies of medical billing specific to oral surgery. Some coverage in the front office may be required. Responsibilities Process and submit claims for oral surgery services using appropriate coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10). Ensure accuracy in billing by reviewing patient records and verifying insurance information. Manage medical collections by following up on unpaid claims and resolving discrepancies with insurance providers. Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with health regulations. Communicate effectively with patients regarding their billing inquiries and payment options. Collaborate with the oral surgery team to understand procedural details that impact billing. Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices. Requirements Proven experience in medical billing, particularly within an oral surgery or dental setting. Proficiency in medical coding, including knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes. Familiarity with medical records management and collection processes. Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to oral surgery. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in using billing systems and software related to medical office operations.
