Job Description

Overview Maple Dental Harrisburg Join our dynamic dental team as a Front Desk Receptionist and become the welcoming face of our clinic! This vital role combines exceptional administrative support with outstanding patient service, ensuring a smooth and efficient dental practice experience. You'll manage patient interactions, coordinate appointments, handle insurance verifications, and maintain accurate medical records—all while fostering a friendly and professional environment. Your energy and organizational skills will help us deliver top-tier dental care with a smile! Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression for everyone who walks through our doors Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle billing using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Collect payments, perform medical collections, and manage patient account balances with accuracy and integrity Maintain and update patient records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks or Meditech, ensuring HIPAA compliance Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, scheduling appointments and answering patient inquiries promptly Review documentation for accuracy, including medical history forms, care plans, and insurance information Support medical administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing medical records with strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and office management software Experience Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with dental terminology, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and medical billing is a plus Proven experience in medical office management or administrative support within healthcare settings Knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms such as Athenahealth or Epic Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and compassionately Bilingual abilities are advantageous to serve diverse patient populations effectively Competency in medical coding (ICD coding), insurance verification, and documentation review to facilitate accurate billing processes Join us in delivering exceptional dental care by providing outstanding front desk support!
