Job Description

Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) is seeking a Medical Secretary to join the team at our Lake Ariel Family Health Center . The role focuses on delivering outstanding patient care while efficiently managing the administrative and operational tasks of the medical office. WMCHC's Mission Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers creates and sustains healthy rural communities by providing accessible, high quality medical, dental, and behavioral health care for all, while recognizing and addressing other factors that influence health outcomes.
Job Responsibilities:
Greeting customers in-person and handling in-bound and out-bound phone calls Assisting patients needs by creating a safe environment Scheduling visits and documenting appointment details accurately and appropriately Reviewing and capturing patients' insurance cards, driver's license, and other applicable information in accordance with procedures, as well as completing patient registration and appropriate consents Completing registration along with annual forms Handling all documentation and patients records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system Reporting to appropriate clinical team members on patients' questions and care Scheduling follow-up appointments and completing return orders Facilitate scheduling of appointments with other providers to include, but not limited to testing facilities, hospitals, specialists, etc. Monitor and coordinate daily schedules, verifying appointments, contacting patients, and filling scheduling gaps Scanning all reports, records, and other documents in patients chart using an appropriate and confidential manner Maintains petty cash log and ensure logs are delivered to the billing department as directed Maintains familiarity with financial assistance programs as applicable Checks correspondence and messages daily Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Effective communication skills Basic mathematic and typing skills Medical terminology Word processing Prior secretarial or administrative experience, and/or education preferred
