Job Description

Scheduler/Medical Receptionist Job Summary Whole Health Orthopedic Institute is seeking a self-starting, experienced individual to join our office as a Scheduler/Medical Receptionist. As part of our administrative team, you assist patients in making, altering, and canceling medical appointments, ensuring patients have access to the services and treatments they need. You accurately record patient information, prevent double-bookings, and route patient calls to the correct department or individual. This position requires you have close attention to detail, impeccable phone etiquette, and working knowledge of common medical terminology. Our ideal candidate has prior receptionist experience, especially in a medical setting, coupled with superb data entry and communication skills. Scheduler/Medical Receptionist Duties and Responsibilities Answer patient calls, field questions, and assist patients in making new medical appointments Change or cancel appointments as necessary Accurately note all patient information according to confidentiality standards and HIPAA requirements Route calls to the appropriate department or individual Scheduler/Medical Records Clerk Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or GED certificate Positive attitude and willing to help out the team Knowledge of common medical terminology Prior receptionist experience, ideally in a medical clinic environment Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette Ability to work independently
