As the Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting patients, handling phone calls, scheduling appointments, and performing administrative tasks to ensure smooth operation of our medical practice. Your role is crucial in creating a positive experience for our patients and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction:
Greet patients and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor. Assist patients with check-in and check-out processes.
Appointment Scheduling:
Manage patient appointment scheduling, including booking, rescheduling, and canceling appointments as needed. Ensure the schedule is optimized for efficiency.
Phone Management:
Answer incoming calls, provide information, and direct calls to the appropriate staff members. Handle patient inquiries and concerns promptly and courteously.
Administrative Tasks:
Perform general clerical duties, including filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Insurance and Billing:
Collect and verify patient insurance information. Assist with processing billing information and co-pays, and address any related questions or issues.
Office Coordination:
Maintain a clean and organized reception area. Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely patient flow and address any operational needs.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional training or certification in medical office administration is a plus.
Experience:
Previous Medical Receptionist experience REQUIRED, Podiatry/Wound Care and Cardiology preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and office software (e.g., electronic health records) is required.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Technical Proficiency:
Proficient with office equipment (e.g., phone systems, computers) and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is desirable.
Personal Attributes:
Professional appearance and demeanor. Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Travel The employee will primarily work in one of our office locations. Travel beyond the office will be limited, but may occasionally occur, typically with prior notice.
