Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Medical Office Specialist to manage our front-desk operations and revenue cycle. The ideal candidate will be the "face of the practice," providing excellent patient service while ensuring that billing, insurance claims, and accounts receivable are handled with high accuracy. Again, This is a hybrid role perfect for someone who enjoys both patient interaction and administrative financial management .Key Responsibilities:
Front-Desk Reception:
Greet patients, manage the check-in/check-out process, answer multi-line phones, and coordinate provider schedules.Insurance Verification:
Confirm patient eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations before appointments. Accounts Receivable (AR): Monitor aging reports, follow up on denied or unpaid claims, and manage patient billing inquiries and payment plans.Revenue Collection:
Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances at the time of service; perform daily payment balancing.Records Management:
Maintain accurate patient files in the EMR system while ensuring 100% HIPAA compliance.Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting handling both reception and billing/AR.Education:
High School Diploma required; Associate degree or certification (CMAA, CBCS, or CPC) preferred.Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software. Minimum 45 WPM typing speed.Soft Skills:
Strong multitasking abilities, professional communication, and a "problem-solver" mindset for resolving insurance discrepancies.Knowledge:
Firm understanding of medical terminology, insurance payers (Medicare, Medicaid, Private), and the claim lifecycle.Benefits:
