MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST - FULL-TIME
East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) Are you a compassionate, organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment? East Bay Community Action Program is looking for a Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our patients, clients, and visitors. In this role, you'll be the welcoming face of our healthcare center, ensuring smooth front desk operations while making every patient feel supported and valued. About the Role The Medical Receptionist is responsible for creating a welcoming, professional atmosphere while efficiently managing front desk operations, including patient registration, appointment scheduling, and communication support. Key Responsibilities Greet and welcome all patients, clients, and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner Answer a multi-line phone system and direct calls appropriately Provide general information about services, procedures, and policies Respond to basic inquiries from patients, providers, and other departments Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments using the electronic scheduling system Maintain provider schedules and coordinate with clinical teams Document appointment details accurately in the electronic health record Verify patient eligibility for services and collect appropriate payments and co-pays Ensure all patients complete necessary consent forms and acknowledgments Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times Assist with administrative projects as assigned Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in a healthcare setting Experience with electronic health records and scheduling systems Proficiency in multi-line phone systems and general office equipment Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Familiarity with health insurance verification processes Medical terminology certification preferred Ability to work an assigned schedule with flexibility for coverage between the hours of 7:30 AM - 8:00 PM Why Join EBCAP?
