Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Front Office Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment, ensuring smooth clinic operations and efficient patient flow. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical office experience, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify patient information, and assist with check-in procedures using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Schedule appointments accurately and manage the clinic's calendar through medical scheduling software Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and explain billing procedures to patients Collect copayments and process payments utilizing medical collection procedures in compliance with HIPAA regulations Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy in documentation review and medical records management Assist with intake processes, including updating demographic information Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, providing excellent patient service and directing calls appropriately Support medical administrative functions such as faxing, data entry, and managing office supplies Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards by safeguarding patient confidentiality and handling sensitive health information securely Experience Prior medical office experience is required Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is essential Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and health information management practices Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Demonstrated customer service skills with professional phone etiquette Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare documentation review is preferred Ability to handle high-volume multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Join us in delivering compassionate healthcare support while advancing your administrative career!
