Job Title:
Medical Receptionist
  • Duties:
  • Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
  • Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar
  • Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary payments
  • Insurance Authorizations
  • Maintain daily / weekly patient records and update information as needed
  • Assist with tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a medical receptionist is required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in using phone systems and basic computer applications
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
