Palmetto Primary Care Physicians (PPCP) is seeking a professional and compassionate Phone Operator to serve as the first point of contact for our patients. Medical, Dental, Vision Benefits Short Term and Long Term Disability Offered Position Responsibilities:
Assist patients by answering phones and/or referring inquiries. Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments by telephone. Comforts patients by anticipating patient's anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area. Relays messages, refill requests, etc to the clinical staff for handling and in turn relay messages from the clinical staff to the patients. Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Take Direction and initiate actions (cross/additional training) that will allow the assumption of cross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient care. Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary. Minimize non-productive time and fill slow periods with activities that will enable you to prepare to meet the future needs of the System (education, organizing, housekeeping, and assisting others). Organize job functions and work area to be able to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frames. Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods. Makes calls out to schedule appointments; whether a potential patient who contacts PPCP via website or insurance carrier mails a gap in coverage, patient due for preventive services, makes reminder calls for patients coming in for fasting CPE appointments. Other duties as assigned.
Educational/ Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED); 0-2 years of medical office experience.

Multi-tasking, flexibility, computer skills, telephones skills, customer service skills, time management, organization, attention to detail, scheduling, word processing, professionalism, quality focus, general math skills.
