This is an extremely important role for our office, as this person will be the first point of contact for our patients in welcoming them, answering their questions, and setting the precedent for the excellent care and service our practice provides. It is important that this person has some experience with the dental industry as well as a background with dental or medical computer software and insurance billing. This is a part-time position, three and a half days a week, as scheduled in advance. Full-time employment and advancement are available for an individual that excels in the position and is interested! We would prefer someone who has dental experience and can step in and confidently operate the front office, with dental knowledge and some insurance billing knowledge preferred. We are willing to train anyone with the right temperament, attitude, and aptitude for the position. Compensation will be based on previous experience and performance. Peak Family Dentistry is a locally owned Chattanooga dental practice with a focus on strong culture and a positive work environment. Job Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years in a dental office; high degree of proficiency using Dental Management System (Open Dental Preferred); Demonstrated expertise in dental reimbursement billing
Knowledge/Skills/Attributes :
Has an outgoing, friendly personality that sets the tone for the office and establishes rapport with patients Good verbal and written communication skills Positive attitude and team player Proficient in working with dental software (Open Dental background preferred) and a high degree of comfort working with computers Understands and/or shows an aptitude for using dental terminology. Willingness to occasionally work past the scheduled shift to meet the needs of the practice.
Responsibilities include:
Greet patients and make them feel welcome. Register new patients according to established office protocols. Assist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation. Promptly answer and manage incoming calls with a professional and courteous manner. Verify and update new and current patient information. Inform patients of dental office procedures and policy. Move patients through appointments as scheduled. Keep a Short call list and fill open appointment timeslots Enter all relevant patient information into data system, maintain and manage patient records in compliance with privacy and security regulations. Meet with current and potential patients to create, review, and finalize treatment plan and subsequent financial obligations. Schedule patient appointments. Confirm upcoming appointments and recalls according to office protocol. Check daily and weekly appointment schedule. Proactively call patients to fill scheduling holes. Organize referrals to other medical specialists. Dispatch lab work appropriately. Collect and receipt payments from patients at time of treatment. Arrange payment schedule with patients. Maintain a clean, tidy, and welcoming professional reception area. Adhere to HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality.
