Job Description
- Job Summary
- As Front Desk / Scheduling personnel, you will be the first point of contact for our Surgery Center.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Check patients in using multiple electronic scheduling systems
- Accurately explain consents and obtain signatures
- Collect any patient copays/coinsurances
- Answer phone calls and reply to emails in a timely manner
- Communicate between multiple departments for highest quality of patient care
- Schedule surgical procedures when ordered
- Provide excellent customer service
Skills:
- Proficiency in computer usage (this is primarily a desk/screen job)
- Ability to use email is a professional setting
- Ability to learn or understand faxing and scanning electronically
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, orthopaedic or spine preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Time management and ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to handle phone calls in a professional setting
- Understanding and compliance with HIPPA and patient privacy laws.
- Previous medical office/hospital experience is preferred
