Job Description

M-F 8am-5pm Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will be the welcoming face of our practice, providing exceptional patient service and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a positive experience for every patient while supporting the clinical staff with administrative tasks. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out processes with professionalism and efficiency Verify patient insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification procedures Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Collect and process payments, perform medical billing and coding including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
codes, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Maintain and update patient records, review documentation for accuracy, and manage medical records filing Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, triage calls, and direct inquiries appropriately Assist with intake procedures, including gathering medical history and updating demographic information Support clinical staff with administrative duties such as preparing care plans and reviewing documentation Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a medical office setting with strong clerical skills Familiarity with EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth; experience with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite; ability to navigate health information management systems efficiently Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in bilingual settings preferred Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy in documentation review and appointment scheduling Previous clinic or hospital experience is highly desirable; dental office experience is a plus Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, documentation review, and office management tasks Join our team to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while working in a fast-paced, supportive environment!
