Medical Receptionist

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team! Duties Greet and check-in patients efficiently, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth patient flow Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes using systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or Dentrix Schedule appointments accurately using medical scheduling software and coordinate follow-up visits Manage patient records by updating and maintaining electronic health records (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks or Eaglesoft Assist with medical billing and collection processes, including coding procedures like CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding to ensure accurate documentation and reimbursement Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette; address patient inquiries promptly and courteously Review documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with HIPAA regulations; handle filing and organization of medical records Support clinic operations by performing clerical tasks such as data entry, typing reports, and managing office supplies Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and health information management standards Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or Eaglesoft Experience with medical billing, insurance verification, and collection processes Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations; bilingual abilities are a plus Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient confidentiality and data security Skilled in office management tasks such as filing, scheduling, data entry (including 10 key typing), and using Microsoft Office applications Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy clinic environment while maintaining attention to detail Previous experience in dental or medical office settings is highly desirable; familiarity with dental terminology or hospital experience is a bonus Join our team to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives!
